How is your family mentee doing?
Sarah just got a second job. She’s a hard worker and doing awesome with her kids. Not sure if she needs me much. She’s really awesome!
What are their needs?
She started her new job at Albertsons last week and so I picked up her son from daycare two times last week to take him over to her house for the older teenager son to watch him. We have to spend working together figuring out new clothes, her last job was uniform, and figuring out how to juggle her kids. I got some donations for clothes for her and some more possibly coming and then was able to help drive. But she figured out a plan for her son to be able to babysit and not use daycare since he’s doing online school. So I think her two jobs will work with the schedule. Just leaving her boys to watch each other! So hopefully that works out.
What skills do they need to develop?
Organization and how to be clean and tidy? Hopefully with more income she is able to plan finances well.
What changes are they trying to make?
Getting a second job is going to help with daily living and expenses. Pretty exciting!
What concerns do you have?
I think she’s on the right path. Just a little worried about her kids hanging in there with her teenager watching her younger son often. That would make her working difficult. So hoping that works out!
What community resources/classes would be most beneficial to them?
I know they’ve used the food banks in the past. We’ll see if they need those anymore.

Feel like she’s doing the right things! She’s a great worker and I really like her!
