How is your family mentee doing?
Jackie was recently allowed back in the home after a confrontation with her son. Since then, her boyfriend/children’s father became quite abusive and is in jail. The family is struggling to process what has happened.
What are their needs?
Jackie is looking for a job. In the meantime, she could use some financial assistance and is worried about paying rent, utilities, and car insurance.
What skills do they need to develop?
I don’t know.
What changes are they trying to make?
Jackie is trying to make positive changes in parenting and find a job to provide financial support for herself and the kids.
What concerns do you have?
I am concerned for their safety after the violent incident with the boyfriend. She also needs to find a way to support the family.
What community resources/classes would be most beneficial to them?
Anything that would help her financially.
