How is your family mentee doing?
Hard to say how she is doing. She has struggled to find a place to live. Her daughter got out of a work release program and was finally able to get an apartment with her daughter. Then daughter was re-incarcerated. Her son moved in with her at the apartment after he got out of jail.
What are their needs?
Biggest need was housing. Jane doesn't like to feel like she needs help, but often feels overwhelmed. Jane struggles when she has to manage a lot of information. She will reach out and respond to Theresa but there are long spaces in between.
What skills do they need to develop?
Her biggest issue was maintaining housing. Her credit report had identity theft. Theresa tried to help her clean up her credit report.
What changes are they trying to make?
Trying to secure more permanent housing and fix credit.
What concerns do you have?
Jane's phone number became blocked after a while. Theresa has not had success at getting in touch with her. Jane forgets a lot. Theresa has tried to help her but then Jane won't respond for long periods of time.
What community resources/classes would be most beneficial to them?
Jane has health issues with breathing.

They met after Christmas at Starbucks. Theresa bought a game with Jane and her grandson, they had a great time. Theresa was hoping things would pivot from this point to a friendship but Jane didn't maintain the connection.
